NSS

Shri Siddheshwar Mahavidyalaya, Majalgaon NSS Unit is established in 1997. The aim of NSS is to promote National integration and the sense of social responsibility, inculcate of discipline, dignity of labor and help the student to develop his total personality.

The motto of NSS is ‘Not Me But You’ which expresses the essence of democratic living, respect of for the other people and selfless service. Our NSS programmes are project and action oriented. The activities which are suitable for the intellectual and physical requirements of the students are undertaken.

The college has an active and society oriented NSS unit with necessary facilities and equipment. For the safe storage of NSS equipment, the department has been provided with a separate store room. The unit has three program officers out of which one is ladies programme officer and 300 students enrolled.

NSS activities have been divided into two major groups. These are regular NSS activities and special camping programme.

• NSS Regular activities: Under this activities student undertakes various programmes in the adopted villages college/school campuses and urban slums during weekends or after college hours. Duration of these services is 120 hrs. in each academic year.
• Special Camping Programme: under this, Camps of 07 days duration are organized in adopted villages or urban slums during vacations with some specific projects by involving Local Communities.

In regular activities at a college level, NSS organizes the programmes like tree plantation, clean India mission, literacy mission, voter’s awareness programme, the street show on various social issues, NSS day, BetiBachavBetiPadhav mission, AIDS awareness and the programmes provided by University. The regular activities are organized to get opportunities to see the community closely and get an experience of human and society. Blood donation camp is organized by our NSS department from last three years on behalf of Dr. B. R. AmbedkarMahaparinirvandin 06 December for each year.

NSS organize Special Youth Camp in every year in adopted village regularly.  The duration of this camp is 07 days and it is a residential camp. In this on different National, Social topics are focused. For this special camp, 150 students are sanctioned.
